If someone knew about this trick and never told me I am going to be very angry. I am going to be nice and share what I just found. Before reading on, please note that my husband and I call corn on the cob, corn on the C.
A great way to get buttery corn on the C, is to fill a Ball jar with very hot water (from a tea kettle) and add a couple tablespoons of butter. The butter will melt, rise, and sit on the top of the water. You then dip your corn on the C into the Ball jar, down into the water, and when you remove the C a film of butter will stick to it and totally coat it.
Since one of my favorite foods is butter and I insist on butter touching every piece of my corn on the C, this should work out great. It is a very good idea that I hope to test out this weekend. There better be corn left at the farm stand...
