the box. the bottle. isn't the packaging just stunning? |
Something came in the mail yesterday. It was because I ordered it. I had a few deal bucks on the LivingSocial website from past purchases and received $20 to spend on overstock.com for free. I searched the website for a fun item or two, but everything I wanted ended up being at least $80 (I was looking for something more in the $20-$40 range)…until I visited the fragrance department.
Wearing perfume makes me feel older and more professional, and since I don’t wear make-up I feel like it is probably a good idea. I enjoy scents that are more on the musky/woodsy side of the spectrum. My top three favorites are Donna Karen Cashmere Mist, Marc Jacobs Lola, and Dolce & Gabbana L’Eau The One.
When I was searching the fragrances on the website, I had a flashback to 1986 when my Dad brought back perfume from Singapore for my Mom. Although the perfume is compounded in Switzerland with the finest oils imported from France, I associate it with Singapore because that is where my Dad was returning home from. The perfume is Niki de St. Phalle and not only does it bring back happy childhood memories, it smells fantastic.
*The real Niki de St. Phalle (as in the human) was a French sculptor, painter, and film maker.
Wow! Does that bring back some memories. That stuff smells so good. I'm running low on my Sand and Sable and only have 2 trial sizes left. I have no idea what to get until now (maybe). Mom had the best perfumes.
