maybe going "stag", maybe not

this would be so ideal, but it is no longer
for sale. the artist was featured in a
magazine and these prints went viral.
I have been looking at prints lately in an attempt to find some decorating inspiration. Each day I make up my mind up, choose colors and themes for certain rooms, and then I see something the following day that makes me rethink all of my decisions.  (I also need to run everything by my husband, which can result in one of two ways – instant applause and acceptance, or an abrupt veto – the man knows what he likes.)  The one thing that stays constant in my decorating hopes and dreams is a faux stag head over the fireplace, but although it is "faux", it represents the thought of a stuffed stag head, which I am 100% against, unless of course it died a natural death.  Is it wrong for me to want this?  Should I find a piece of art that embodies a living stag, like the one pictured here?  My grandparents had a southwestern themed family room and my grandfather hung a bull skull on the wall.  We were all pretty certain the bull was a “meat” cow, as it had a bullet hole smack in the middle of its forehead.  It was pretty darn obvious that it didn’t die of natural causes.  He ended up filling the hole because his grand-daughters could not believe he was hanging something like that in his living space.  Maybe the stag head is my way of honoring the bull?!?!?
