The horrible, lumpy, old pine green carpet is gone and we have wood floors in our downstairs, sans the kitchen. It is bare wood at this moment in time, but it is there and it is beautiful. It smells very lumber-y in our home, which I imagine will be a much sweeter smell than stain and sealant, so we should enjoy it while we can. This is SO exciting! Once this project is done, my husband will finish painting the downstairs and we can begin to get settled.
I had a minor epiphany last week in regards to the couch in the den – we should go sleeper sofa, so we can house more visitors in a comfortable, private, relatively dark space that even has its own bathroom. I think in this day and age one can find a quality sleeper sofa that is both comfortable to sit on and sleep on. Did I mention how excited I am?
