oh the places we have been & love

This is a photo from our last Friday night, hence the cocktails. I wanted to include it in the blog because in the background you can see our “map” display. It is FINALLY done. (That is until we travel somewhere else and decide another place means as much to us as these places). Presently it includes; Vermont, Maine, Colorado, New York (four out of the five boroughs, sorry Staten Island!), Massachusetts, and New Jersey.

We used actual maps from a Gazetteer for Vermont, a ‘Greetings from Maine’ postcard from one of my aunts, a custom printed state map with a heart on Navesink for New Jersey (chevron background), a screened print of MA for Massachusetts, a vintage Rocky Mountain postcard for Colorado, and a custom printed neighborhood map of New York. We used white and gold frames, and decided not to mat any of the prints. I love how it came out. It makes me happy every day when I see them, and remember the memories we had in each place.
