a big purchase for the home and lawn

Tuesday night was an exciting night in our household. We finally decided on an electric mower and made the purchase. We bought our home last August and because there were so many things going on, we paid someone to mow our lawn. It was a little treat and one less thing to worry about, plus we wanted to make sure we had enough time for research. We only know one person (my husband’s uncle) that owns one, so we didn’t have the option of talking to a large group of people about their experience.

We ended up using advice from him and my Dad’s Consumer Reports, and went with the Black and Decker CM1936 model. It is a cordless, push mower with a removable battery. Self-propelled seems nice, but so much of the battery power gets lost in the propelling feature. We want more power for cutting the actual grass. I am sure we will be pleased with our purchase. I am excited to try it out and proud to be a woman in the state of New Jersey that isn’t afraid to mow the lawn. (Apparently most Jersey women don’t cut grass.)
