and they're always glad you came

I got out of work early. It is
normally much busier.

I finally went back to an old staple last Friday – Cowgirl Seahorse in the Financial District. It is located right by the South Street Seaport (or what is left of it), which is close to where I used to work. A friend and I found the place on a whim and started frequenting it about once a month. Then we got new jobs and changed offices. Then Sandy Storm hit and it was filled with six feet of water. They reopened a few months ago, but we just never found ourselves that far downtown…until last Friday. It was so nice. I think of it like a Cheers-type place, although no one there even has an inkling of a clue as to what my name is. They are indeed always glad we came, but that’s because we normally lose track of time and order a plethora of food and drinks.

This past trip we enjoyed our personal favorites – frozen margaritas and black bean nachos. I never really ordered nachos out before Cowgirl Seahorse, but theirs are SO good! Normally I prefer non-frozen margaritas, but the frozen ones are a happy hour special. They are delicious and frozen, but strangely creamy in a very great way. It is a cheap bill and a fun time. I recommend dinner there, as well. I have yet to find something I didn’t enjoy. Click here to see the dinner menu.
