abstract, oily, colorful, and fun

Oh hey, what do you know - I have a blog! Okay, this week was busy and I did a horrible job at writing. Oops. I had a very fulfilling week too, so it seems silly I didn't write. Well, after not saying much for a few days I am ready to share some of my findings. They happen to be art and not food, which is a nice change and makes me feel less like a fat kid. The first is an artist called Paco Pomet. He lives and works in Grenada, Spain and "his landscapes and portraits borrow from sepia-toned photographs that look like historical documents or vintage vacation photos". (Quotes make it not plagiarism, right? Those are not my words, but explain his work so eloquently. I couldn't resist.) Most of them are oil paintings, but the surreal-ness of them remind me of the collages by Eugenia Loli. Click here to see more of his work. Here are my three favorites, which all happen to be from 2013 - I guess that was a good year for him:

Eden. 2013

Restoration. 2013

The mission. 2013
