thanks for safe and enjoyable long distance adventures

The buggie's last commute -
leaving Cape Cod. The Bourne
Bridge is in the background.
There are so many things I want to write about. I feel like I haven't had the chance to decompress and get my thoughts in order. Summer time is crazy. Most of my plans were made towards the beginning of the year, but even with all of the notice I am still exhausted. Over the course of winter I get very accustomed to not doing a damn thing at night on weekdays, but lately I have been going nonstop. Tonight was supposed to be my down night of the week, but I am getting a haircut at eight o'clock. No breaks, I guess. My husband told me the other day that I can rest in winter. I guess that's my only option at this point.

We have some especially important plans in the upcoming weeks, which is why we recently made a large purchase of a new car (click that, you will be glad you did). Yes people, we did it. We kept our little buggie as we call it (aka a 2002 White Subaru Forester with 170,000 miles on it) because it was more value to us as a local commuter car than a trade-in. Our little buggie embarked on its last long-distance trip this past weekend when I drove it to Cape Cod. It was bittersweet really. That thing has taken us to so many places and in doing so has kept us safe and sound. Even though it is old it is still our treasured buggie, but instead of big adventures it will only take us to places within a twenty-ish mile radius. The buggie will be driven locally until a repair is needed that costs more than the car is worth. I have had a hard time remembering we have a new car because I have driven the buggie all weekend and week (new car was purchased last Thursday), as we are trying our best to only use the new car for long trips. This post is to celebrate the life of the buggie in all of its splendor. Thanks for the memories little one. Here's to a few more years in warmer weather and for shorter distances.
