these boots were made for snow and warmth

What is with the weather? I was all ready for winter after spending time in Vermont, Maine, and Massachusetts, but now it is summer again?! WTF people? I also just ordered these boots from L.L.Bean and I was all excited to wear them - although I have yet to actually try them on. Not sure why they are still in the box, but I am thrilled to have them even though it may not seem like it?! Momma needed a new pair of winter boots and I went with a classic. I was between a few pairs of Sorel's, but when I saw that Bean was making these in fun colors (read: blue and red) I thought I would give them a whirl. I have had my present winter boots since my Colorado days, but this year it was time for something new. Although I took a peek at a few pairs of more stylish boots, I was looking for something warm, comfortable, and dependable. My walk from the (dreaded) subway is half a mile to my office. Since I walk fast and hard at about fourteen mph (no, not really, but it's fast), I can't wear fancy shoes on my commute. I have yet to wear straight sneakers, but the thought crosses my mind every morning. My shoe purchases over the last five years have become much more sensible because walking around in New York City is no joke. I am not afraid to bring different shoes to change into, but you will not find me prancing around in heels. Here's to it getting cold and being able to wear my boots...assuming they fit and I like them in real life as much as I do in the photo.
