prepping the home and yard for a furry friend

We are in the market for a fence and my votes are going towards a post and rail style with wire mesh. While installing two rails would be less costly than three, I think I like the looks of three. I would not be completely opposed to two, it's just all the examples I've seen that I like have three. 

While more solid wood fences are nice, I like the idea of our backyard being enclosed, but appearing more open. There are a number of homes in our area that have them and the more research I do, the more it seems like it is a good fit for us. My husband worked for a fence company, which will also help drive down the cost. I have no problem getting out there and helping him either. I think together we can tackle this project...which will get us that much closer to having a dog! While we still have a long way to go, we want to keep the motion moving forward.
