family...and friends, too

My recent weeks have been full of time spent with friends and family (which at this point in life I would prefer to just say family, but want to make sure I am painting a clear picture for you), and I could not be happier.  Well, I would be happier if I was able to see Evan more, but right now life is keeping us at a bit of a distance because of work.  Shit happens, right…and it isn't even really shit, because he is flourishing in the land of production and video.  I am so proud of him.

A lot of my time with these said family and friends has been spent in NJ (county = Monmouth).  I have been able to embark on some wonderful excursions.

Take for instance:
³ Guzzling down a few bing cherry mojitos
³ Mini golf and fish’n’chips (were we trying to capture the essence of New England in the dutty?  Well maybe.)
³ Climbing one of the two lighthouses at Twin Lights (see "old postcard-ish" picture above - i love images like that)
³ Getting served fresh, warm, blue cotton candy on a stick (it comes with the check!) after a celebratory birthday meal at Fromagerie (cutest website ever!)
³ Finding a sale item (or three) at a nearby Anthropology store
³ Consuming the best dessert I have had in my 30 years of life; apple blondie, homemade butterscotch ice cream, caramel sauce

See, NJ really isn't that bad!  You may also notice that most of these items have to deal with food.  Um, yeah!  Did you not know this was MY blog?  I HEART FOOD.  If you are going to continue reading each week, and I mean this in the sincerest and gentlest way possible, get used to it!  This girl can eat.
