to theme or not to theme



I am such a fan of order that I have been struggling with having a themed Christmas tree.  I want one, the husband does not.  I think it would be quite wonderful to have an organized tree, which is the exact opposite of what I grew up with.  My mother puts at least one (sometimes two) ornaments on each and every branch - and Scotch Pines have a lot of branches.  No two ornaments are the same, aside from a few that say my name and my sister's name. 

I know it is exciting to collect things, like ornaments, and reminisce about where each of them came from, but maybe we could start collecting ornaments that had stripes on them…no?  Nothing seems more beautiful to me than a linear themed tree (that is my shout out to linear things – haven’t had one in a while).  I feel like I have come a long way.  I used to just want a plain tree with white lights and a star on top. 

To theme or not to theme…that is the holiday question.
