I present to you on this Monday afternoon the Best Fall Dessert of 2011; three scoops of sweet potato ice cream, rolled in graham cracker crumbs, topped with toasted marshmallows. Just start applauding now. It deserves it.
This photograph makes it look quite enormous, but I assure you it was of normal size and proportion. It was absolutely delicious. The ice cream must have been made with some type of pumpkin pie spice. Talk about fall goodness…
I am not the biggest fan of whipped cream either, so the toasted marshmallow was welcomed with open arms. I would choose marshmallow over whipped cream any day, especially toasted!
We went to Drew’s Bayshore Bistro again and I am sure you are sick of me talking about that restaurant, but we just can’t get enough of it. It is close to home, bring your own beer/wine, and every meal (except for the jambalaya) is the greatest dish ever.
We learned this past weekend that Chef Drew invents all of these delicious desserts himself, in addition to the appetizers and entrees. Can you say One Man Wonder? Aren’t people supposed to be good at either cooking OR baking? I know where I stand. Cooking dinner is not one of my strong points, but if anyone needs a calorie-rich (aka fatty) dessert, I am your girl.
