pickles and the keeper of pickles

We had one of these at our house.  It was Tupperware brand, lived in the fridge, and was always full of ShopRite bread and butter pickles.  For those of you who have never seen one of these before, there is a contraption inside of the container.  The contraption has a flat bottom with little holes in it and when you lift it up, the pickle juice drains to the bottom allowing for a cleaner and less wet pickle eating experience.  Was it completely necessary?  Not really.  Was it awesome?  Definitely.

These days I don’t really eat all that many bread and butter pickles.  I like a dill spear, either Claussen, Carnegie Deli brand, or Boar’s Head.  Our local brand, Rick’s Picks, makes a "mouth on fire" spicy pickle they call Hotties.  It is a crinkle-cut pickle chip made with dried habanero and sririacha.  They are super hot and especially good in Bloody Marys.
