a gluttonous breakfast on a glorious Sunday

i made this - can you believe it?
(that's our table and dishes)
We love Sundays in our home.  I know I have spoken about this before in my post “a big blog day” back in November, but I want to bring it up again.  Sundays are for CBS Sunday Morning and fatty breakfasts (see attached photo).  There really is nothing better…

There were a lot of things that happened this weekend that lead me to believe 2012 is going to be a year full of wonderful moments and exciting changes.  For instance:

1.  This past Sunday followed this past Saturday – the Saturday in January that was 64 degrees.  (global warming = not so great, but warmer temperatures to deal with during winter = awesome)

2.  I had a weekend with little to no plans in place.  My husband wanted to make decisions about what we were doing, but I was the one who kept saying, “no plans, no plans”.  It was like opposite day all weekend.  I am normally the one who plans out every hour of my days spent at home.  It was glorious and I need to do this more often.

3.  We had an adult talk about our future and what we are going to do about our living situation.  The property we are presently living on and the two homes on it are for sale.  Although having adult conversations can be scary and not so fun, my husband and I are motivated and ready to begin the process of searching for a home to buy.

4.  Ice cream for breakfast!  We had a container of Friendly’s Butter Crunch ice cream in the freezer and I added a scoop to my delightful Sunday breakfast, which was French toast made from leftover bread from our delicious new year’s eve dinner in Manchester, VT.  Butter Crunch tastes a lot like maple syrup.  This was most definitely the best idea I have had this year.

5.  Our home is as neat and tidy as can be.  The Christmas decorations are all packed and put away until next year.  I feel like I can literally accomplish anything with a clean home – exercising, thinking about our health, and figuring out our future are next on the docket.

Although my weekend felt extremely long and I was more relaxed than I have been in months, I was able to get quite a bit accomplished.  I love weekends like these.
