Even though coupons bring tidings of good cheer and savings, I absolutely HATE that word. My sister (aka lover of abbreviations) had me try calling them "coupies", and although it is slightly better, it is still too close to coupon to make me feel okay about saying it.
I came up with printable discounts yesterday (she, of course, turned it into "printie discies"), and I am going to run with it. It is well worth the extra syllables in my book.
That's a really funny word to hate! My despised word list includes words like "fester", "puss", and "scab"... because I am far too visually imaginative to have words like that in my head. They are banned in my home and I can't believe I just wrote them. Now I must go write about fluffy clouds and gooey desserts to rid my mind of these images! :-)
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of words, your blog has the most interesting "word verification" words that pop up. Last time I commented it was "frifildi" which I felt compelled to seek/create a definition for. This time it is "derpent". Oops - too slow. Now the word is "ausness". Fun! :-)
You kept the "c" in. Yessss! Hopefully these words will help and make you smile (and think of me) when you see more of these wonderful helpers to saving a lil $$$.
ReplyDeleteI am a scab picker, so I am not afraid of that word (and am covered with horrible scars from doing so - oops). However, puss is not one of favs either. Yucky. I think I need to write about my favorite words. It makes me uneasy to have such a negative post be the last on my page...
