resolutions for the new year

the dreamiest craft
room on earth
I think if I share my ideas for 2012 with you, I will be more apt to follow them.  Let’s see if it works:

1.   Exercise at least four  three days a week.  I will try for three, four will be a bonus.  I know it should be six, but I am trying to be realistic.
2.   Create or craft something each month.  Little projects make me so happy and there are so many good ideas out there.
3.   Remember people’s birthdays.  I know I have brought this up before, but I am REALLY going to try harder this year.  Feel free to text me your birthday, so I don’t have to ask you -because let’s face it; I probably do not know it or even have the slightest idea what month it’s in.
4.   Explore our cookbooks and make meals that will last longer than one day.  I want to be able to share recipes with you and save money by not having to cook a new meal each day.
5.   Speak my mind.  Living in Jersey is helping this matter – for some reason I just feel like I can be more outspoken with the power of Jersey in my heart.  It is time to stop being a “yes to everything” person and become more honest - I owe it to myself.
6.   Come up with a Christmas card idea that doesn’t involve sewing and paper.  That was just ridiculous.

I feel like I could keep writing, but let’s start with these.    Wish me luck!

  1. I think you should just pick a birthday for each person you want to honor. Imagine getting a card in March when your birthday is in August just because you picked that time to honor them. It could be fun! (I suggest this because birthdays are the bane of my existence. Like Christmas cards, I have more than I care to admit gathering dust after the well-meaning purchase.) XO PG

  2. Good list, cooking can be a craft too!!

I love the wood in the craft room!!

Birthdays are tough.....I try to stay away from them altogether, too many days to remember. And I downplay my own.
It seems pretty sad now that i think about it- a Birthday Scrooge.

  3. I like Polly's idea! If I ever miss a birthday, it's not because I forget. It's because I really try not to Facebook or text the birthday message b/c people deserve better, but by the time I remember the birthday it's too late to send something out, so I end up either emailing something or doing nothing all together...which is almost worse. I know it's someone's birthday and still can't get my act together to do something?! Sheesh.
