martha's photo, not mine |
My parents came to visit our new home for the first time this past weekend. They helped out with both indoor and outdoor projects, and my dad gave us some realistic options for installing a pantry in our kitchen (details to follow in a future blog post, once we make a final decision). One small project I wanted to tackle was organizing my drawer in our master bathroom. The drawer is nine inches deep and has things in it ranging in all different heights from deodorant to spray-in-conditioner, and perfume to hair elastics. I saw this photo recently on the Martha Stewart website, and tried to use it as inspiration. My mom is a "collector of many things", so I asked her to bring along tins ranging in height from six to eight inches. I was able to fit five tins in the drawer (recycled the tops) and now all of my bath products are organized and not flying all over the place. Although it doesn't look quite as stylish, it works extremely well and I am really happy with the results.
