relaxing with some fancy cocktails

Those are the pre-dinner
cocktails. I had some help with
the lighting from the husband.
I thought it would be nice to accompany our homemade meal with some special cocktails. My husband ended up having a relatively non-exciting one before dinner – vodka with a lemon twist. I on the other hand, really went for it – key lime pie martini.

I was in charge of running our errands on Saturday and when I got to the vodka aisle at the alcohol store, noticed a new flavor of Pinnacle brand vodka - enter key lime pie vodka. There was a recipe card taped to the shelf right below it with the following ratio:  1 part Key Lime Pie vodka, 1 part Triple Sec, and 1 part Heavy Cream. I opted for light cream and went with 2 parts Key Lime Pie vodka because our martini glasses are jumbo. It was delicious. I also added some graham cracker crumbs around the rim, along with a slice of lime. We both had one once dinner was over. I highly recommend. It was light, refreshing, and a little summery.
