I cannot believe that I haven’t written about Stew Leonard’s yet. My husband and I stopped by the store in Norwalk, Connecticut, on the way up to my sister’s home. It was GLORIOUS. We ended up going as a result of a suggestion by one of my coworkers, who in my book is the smartest woman alive! Stew’s is a combination of farm market mixed with Disney World. There are talking farm characters like Clover the Cow (pictured), Larry the Lettuce, and Cindy the Celery. I was most impressed with this fun fact: if you spend over $100.00, you get free ice cream on your way out. Um, why don’t more stores do this? I realize it may be a lot of upkeep to make sure the dancing lettuce and celery are working, but serving ice cream does not seem that difficult.
During our stint with no power, we lived on our Stew Leonard’s products as they became more and more thawed out from the freezer not working; bacon, turkey meatballs, hot Italian sausage, and steak. One could say that Stew’s kept us healthy and nourished through the hard times. What would we have done without Stew’s?
