I want to ride my bicycle, I want to ride my bike

I think my husband and I are buying each other bicycles for Christmas. I began looking, but haven’t found exactly what I want quite yet. I know I want something road friendly and it does not need to be trail friendly. I really do not see the draw in mountain biking. I have no desire to bike up hills made of dirt and sometimes mud. It seems like one of the least fun things I could think of. I like hiking up hills, not biking – no thank you. I know I want a brown leather seat and I do not need a bike that costs $900, because believe me - they are out there. I am also thinking Schwinn, but aside from Peugeot, I really don’t know any other bike brands. Also, when I think of Peugeot I envision super skinny bikes with super skinny riders in super skinny bike wear - not what I am looking for. I want a cruiser/road bike, maybe cream (?) in color with a brown leather seat. My bike will see bike trails, neighborhood roads, city streets, and that’s about it. Let the hunt begin!

  1. Hey Kristen,
Here is a link to Globe bikes which I think you will like- http://www.specialized.com/us/en/bikes/globe. They are part of Specialized, but look a little more old school and ride well. B got a more upright one after his accident and has loved it, and still rides it around. They also have built in racks and fenders. They aren't the most expensive or the cheapest, but it may fit what you are looking for. Also Linus bikes are pretty decent as well and not super expensive with a range from around town to sporty. There was one more brand I was thinking of but it is escaping me at the moment. Happy bike shopping/looking!
