last year's cards

I decided to begin a tradition last year after my Christmas cards were finally done and in the mail.  I made an ornament out of the items used in my card.  I vowed to do this every year with hopes that one day I would have a tree filled with homemade ornaments representing the cards I made throughout the years.  I hope I continue this tradition.

this is the ornament, i made a
star with the triangles i cut out
this is the front view of the card,
it is a small forest of trees

My cards for this year are almost done.  I thought 40 would be enough, but when all was said and done I actually needed 50.  Measure twice cut once, right?  I need to make ten more and have plans to get them in the mail by Monday evening.  Then I will have time next week to work on this year's ornament.

The quote on last year's card read:  "For in the true nature of things, if we rightly consider, every green tree is far more glorious than if it were made of gold and silver."  I also put Happy Holidays on the card and signed it with my husband's and my name - trying to be PC for those friends that do not celebrate Christmas.  I think they came out great, but these ones took even longer than this year's.

*Fire backdrop = check.  We had a cozy fire in our fireplace last night.  Fireplaces are the best.
