can't get enough of the blue

I had to use a label picture
because blue cheese is really nasty
looking.  How can it taste so good?
I somehow became addicted to blue cheese over the course of the last few weeks.  It’s all I think about.  I keep trying to incorporate it into every meal.  If we go out to eat, I am willing to order just about anything if it comes with blue cheese.
It happened on a night when my husband and I grilled out.  We had steak for supper and I had the brilliant idea to make blue cheese butter to put on my steak.  I made garlic butter for the husband – he does not like blue cheese at all.  I was inspired by a meal we had in Tampa, Florida this past March.  Talk about making something that is already unhealthy even worse for you.  Red meat + butter = delicious, but also a heart attack waiting to happen.  Oh well.  We have to live a little.  I found a recipe today on the Martha website for blue cheese mashed potatoes.  Yes please.  What else can I put blue cheese in?  I have been sprinkling it on salads mostly, but there must be other options...

  1. one of my favorite blue cheese treats, introduced and perfected by ann, is a toasted english muffin with blue cheese on top. simple and delicious.

  2. I make cabbage salad with cranberries, nuts or flax seed, blue cheese, and Annie's sesame shiitake dressing. It's requires shameless licking of the bowl at the bottom but it's totally worth it. :-)

  3. This all sounds wonderful. I have been experimenting with more and more gluten free bread/pasta products as of late, so I will definitely keep thie English Muffin option in mind. I am also helplessly addicted to Annie's Goddess dressing. Maybe it is time to branch out and try the Sesame Shitake.
