another softer, creamier blue

I found the greatest blue cheese on earth, and not only is the cheese good, the farm it was made on looks absolutely adorable (judging by their very well-done website), and the logo is super cute. What more could you ask for in a cheese? Fat free? Yes, that would be great, but probably not happening. I picked it up two weekends ago at our nearby farm market (Delicious Orchards) when my sister was visiting. The farm is called Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese Company and is located in Point Reyes Station, California. The cheese is called Original Blue. We used it on a shredded buffalo chicken salad, and it worked quite well. This week I brought the remnants to work and have been eating it on a salad with baby lettuces, apples or pears, and a honey balsamic dressing.

California is killing it with cheese. I heart Cypress Grove Chevre, as I mentioned here, and I will always love Jasper Hill Farm Bayley Hazen Blue cheese from Vermont, but this blue cheese was much softer and creamier. If you can find it, buy it, and put it on everything. I was going to put the link to the website, but they literally just took it offline within the last ten minutes and there is now a message that reads: New Site and Online Store Coming Soon.
