I went home to Westfield, Massachusetts this past weekend to celebrate a friend’s father’s 60th birthday. The party was a hoot! The venue was natural and outdoorsy, the food was delicious, and the theme was mustaches! It was a STASH BASH. There were all types of stashes, too. If someone didn’t feel comfortable wearing a stick-on one, there were finger tattoos, stashes on straws, and stashes on sticks. It is one of those themes where even the people who don’t like to dress up can join in because it isn’t totally outrageous.
One of my favorite party themes is choosing a letter and having attendees dress up as something that begins with that letter. When my husband (who was my boyfriend at the time) and I moved away from Colorado, we had a “K” and “E” party (in honor of the first letter of our names). I dressed up as Evita Peron and my husband dressed up as Edwards Street (the street we lived on in Fort Collins). Also in attendance was; a King, an Evangelist, a Kleptomaniac, Eve (without Adam), etc. The options are endless; either go all out and wear a costume in character from head or toe, or do something as simple as wear a crown with plain clothes and call yourself a princess. Theme parties are great. I hope we have another one soon…
