I wanted to do this for weeks and I finally put it on my list of things to do this past weekend, and did it. Go me! I made my very own stylish thumb tacks with old buttons. I tried using buttons that were more in the red and yellow family, so they would match the rest of our kitchen. (Although I love our daily systems area, there are a few more little tweaks I want to tackle before sharing a photo. I am hoping things will be in a good place next week.) I used Gorilla Glue, silver thumb tacks, and buttons, and let them dry for seven hours. Some of the glue came through the little button holes, but for the most part they look pretty darn cool. I would also recommend letting them dry on something hard and plastic, not a paper towel. It was quick and easy, and I love how this photo came out (thank you Instagram).
neat! i may borrow this idea. i have been searching high and low for some fancy push pins for my wine cork board :)
ReplyDeletePlease do! It was a fun project and it looks really neat. I tried searching for some fun tacks, but crafts are fun. Get crafty with it.
