This week is Restaurant Week at the Jersey Shore and we are taking advantage of it. It is similar to the Restaurant Week in New York City – three courses for $30.13. It also helps that it is my husband’s birthday week and everyone wants to take us out to eat. Saturday night we went to a restaurant we have been to only one time before. It is fancy and posh, and quite good. I was feeling daring and ordered the grilled octopus for my hors d’oeuvres. I ate octopus. It was one tentacle on a plate with an herbed salad, grapefruit, orange, chorizo, cannellini beans, and some kind of fried cheese. (I can’t remember what kind and they already changed the menu, so I can’t refer back.) I think I liked it. I am still kind of surprised I ordered it and ate it, but from what I remember, it was good. I still cannot eat snails, but I will give octopus another try. (I had trout almandine for dinner and profiteroles for dessert, if you were wondering.)
