I had one hell of a weekend (in a good way). It felt like it lasted forever collectively as a whole, even though each day went by quickly. I got out of work early on Friday and got to entertain two of my favorite girlfriends for the night. We were able to put our toes in the sand (at the beach) and then headed home for a cheese plate and a delicious Mexican dinner cooked by my husband – mahi mahi tostados. We laughed and laughed, and then ate a dessert I made for the first time – lime bars with pistachio graham cracker crust. Saturday I had a busy day in NYC with my mom and sister. It is an annual occurrence, but this year was the first year we didn’t go and see a Broadway musical. Instead of figuring out something else to do that was artsy and entertaining, I tried squeezing two gigantic meals in because I am a fat kid. I think next year we will just eat one big meal and snack the rest of our day away. We took a taxi ride to brunch at Jacob’s Pickles, stopped at a Momofuku Milk Bar for some take-home goodies, toured the whale exhibit at the Museum of Natural History, took a stroll in Central Park, traveled by subway to Spice Market for an early dinner, dropped off my sister at Grand Central so she could catch the earlier train home, hit up Crumbs for some cupcakes, walked to Rockefeller Center to see the Human Nature exhibit, made a quick stop into an Anthropologie store, and then met back up with her group and bus. It was a packed day of fun. Sunday was CBS Sunday Morning, breakfast on the patio, beach for laying in the sunshine (me) and surfing (my husband), soft serve cones on the way home, and then pizza for dinner. It was jammed packed with fun and food. I want it back. Monday’s are not fun.
*I will elaborate on my favorite parts throughout this week, as I have a lot more to say.
