run, run, run, run...run, run, run away

I was just talking about the time when I thought it would be a good idea to run a half marathon without properly training. Needless to say it wasn’t. I do like running, but I need about forty things to be in place before I actually leave my house at a quicker-than-walking pace.

I should probably sign up for another one, train, and prove to myself that I can do it. I have hiked twenty-two miles in one single day, with an ax, chopping through fresh cut trees to clear a trail. I think I could manage thirteen and a half miles fed, rested, clean, and without an ax. Am I that motivated? I think so. When will it be? I don't know. I am scared.

  1. YES. Let's do this. Train and run the whole thing without wimping out and wincing and walk /jogging through the last four miles. (meaning myself much more than you). MA has several going on in Sept-Nov; all in Boston or Cape; some in CT; some in Jers (but perhaps we should avoid the Shades of Death race).
So here I am throwing myself into your personal goal, but having a partner is more motivating, no?
