salty goodness made in the home state

We used to visit Cape Cod a lot, and not just in the summer either. We have taken long walks on the beach in bathing suits and in hats, mittens, scarves, and winter coats. (And I wonder why I enjoy walks on the beach in any season at this point in life...um, can you say childhood happiness and the best memories on earth with the greatest parents in the universe?  I can.)

In addition to those walks, we visited the Cape Cod Potato Chip factory (close to) every time we went. The factory is a magical place. When you walk in you learn where the potatoes of the day came from AND there are people in hairnets cooking/stirring the potatoes. Then, at the end of the self-guided tour you get free Cape Cod Potato Chips! What could be better?

We are huge fans of CCPC’s. My husband packed my lunch this morning and added chip to the menu. I am thrilled. I am not so good in the morning, so my lunches tend to be quite minimal and basic. The chip will be quite a treat once that clock hits 1:00 p.m. Sometimes the CCPC’s are a touch more expensive than other chip, but the extra few cents or dollars is well worth it. In my opinion, they are the best chip on earth.

  1. This one made me laugh because I frequently complain about CCPC because of the heavy smell at one of my offices that backs up the plant. I like the chips but the smell of them cooking is less than heavenly on a day-to-day basis. I guess it's all about perspective! :-)

  2. That is funny. We even had CCPC t-shirts and pool floats. I would do anything to be there right now, and if I was there, I could visit you!
