happy holiday thoughts to brighten up our day

The green ones, of course. And
yes, they have velvet on them
and I don't even like velvet,
but I really like these.
Simple, sweet, and soft.
I feel like the last two posts I wrote were sad and whiny, so this one is going to be all about happy stuff! It is almost Christmas (and I REALLY love Christmas and wish my birthday wasn't so close to it, so I could just celebrate Santa without any distractions) and I am thinking about getting us new stockings. I also want to look into buying some realistic fake evergreen garland, but it has to look realer than real, or it is not happening. I am normally not a fan of the fakeness, but I had a minor meltdown last year when our fresh garland dried out and made a huge mess. I guess I could have taken it down before I did, but if it were up to me I would celebrate Christmas well into February...though my husband usually likes things taken down around New Year’s, which I guess makes sense (eye roll). Christmas is so happy and makes everyone act nicer and have pink cheeks, or at least that’s how I think of it. I also enjoy the smells – home cooking, baked goods, pine, fires in the fireplace, and mulled spices. Yes please. I love all of those things so much. So, Happy November…does this mean I can start bringing out the decorations?

  1. I am so glad I'm not the only one ready for the Christmas season on Nov 1st! I started pinning cookie recipes, Christmas decor and crafty projects about two weeks ago... I'm just ready really early this year for some reason. It's funny too because less than three weeks ago I was still wearing shorts to work now and then!
