tasting much better at the beach

Why does everything taste better at the beach? It is not like things like peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, Cheese-Its, and Doritos taste just a little bit better - they taste absolutely amazingly better. Though I don't love eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with my toes in the sand (because I always drop my sandwich in said sand), it is unbelievable how different and delicious it tastes. Does having an ocean view put your mind at ease, so you can focus more on what you're eating? Does beach air add an element of saltiness? Do people who live on the beach enjoy their meals more than the average inland resident? So many questions, but as the summer gets nearer and nearer I am excited to indulge in some delights in the sunshine, as the salty mist cools me down.
