could you please pass the mustard? |
I have been searching for a creative way to carve my Halloween pumpkin this year. My sister posted this onto her Pinterest account and because I should give credit where credit is due, she found it on Rachel Ray. (I am a Martha lover. She is a Rachel Ray lover. I do not love Rachel Ray at all, but I do love my sister and this pumpkin.)
If I were to make this cheeseburger pumpkin I would need to purchase another pumpkin, as the one I have is tall and skinny. I think you need a rounder one in order to realistically recreate a cheeseburger.
She used Rice Krispie treats dyed brown for the burger, yellow Laffy Taffy for the cheese, green Fruit Roll-ups for the lettuce, and red Airheads or Sour Straws for the tomato. She used white Good & Plenty for the seeds, but I like how roasted pumpkin seeds look on top - and they are free.

I am not sure I will actually make this, but I think it is worth mentioning. This thing is pretty amazing - and a lot different from the old eyes, nose, mouth carved out with a candle stuck inside.
a squash decorated as a hot dog might be a good partner to your burger pumpkin. just a thought. your hot dog loving friend, steph
ReplyDeleteInstead of a pumpkin dog you could do a butternut squash dog. I actually have a perf one in my fridge. RAY RAY FOR LIFE!!!!
